The inaugural Offshore India and Unconventional Oil & Gas India 2011 took place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre, Mumbai for 3 days, from 14-16 September 2011. Bringing in over 2,000 attendees from around the world, and hosting over 65 exhibitors both local and international, Offshore India and Unconventional Oil & Gas India 2011 was an enjoyable success, providing great depth of knowledge and insight via the dual track conference program, as well as creating good networking and business opportunities for exhibitors and visitors alike.

Offshore India and Unconventional Oil & Gas India 2011 tackled the strategic and technical issues facing the region and attracted growing interest from both national and international organisations. Addressing the demanding needs of the Indian market, Offshore India and Unconventional Oil & Gas India provided a unique platform for assembling the region’s key leaders for discussion on a range of topics affecting the Indian petroleum industry.
The Conference got under with a Welcome and Introduction session, in front of over 150 delegates, with standing room only, including speeches from Mr. Bob Tippee, Chief Editor, Oil & Gas Journal, PennWell Corporation and Mr. H.L. Zutshi, Former CMD, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd., and Conference Co-Chairman, and was followed by a Conference Welcome Address & Introduction from Mr. Venugopal N. Dhoot, Chairman, Videocon, Mr. Anshuman Ruia, Group Chief Executive, Essar Group, Mr. G.C. Chaturvedi, Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, and Dr. S.C. Sharma, Member (Energy) Planning Commission.
Over the 3 days Offshore India covered such conference topics as Deepwater Technology, Production Optimization, Regional Challenges and Asset Integrity, while Unconventional Oil & Gas India covered Regions & Plays, Reservoirs and Strategies, Applied Technology, and Reservoir Modeling and Characterization.
In addition to the conference sessions, there were also two plenary sessions on the morning of Friday 16th September 2011, introducing Indian Project Highlights. The sessions covered both Refineries and Field Development individually.
Offshore India and Unconventional Oil & Gas India also included an exhibition with the likes of Essar, Videocon, Aker Solutions, Technip, ASRY, Tyco International, Lamprell and Stratos Global, plus many more exciting local and international organizations exhibiting their products, services and expertise.
